CaptureLink™

Overview

CaptureLink

The development of CAD (Computer Aided Design) provided increased levels of speed and flexibility to the design process. Along with this increased capability came large amounts of complex data which needed to be managed effectively.

CaptureLink™ from Cad-Capture extends the Open Text eDOCS portfolio of desktop clients by enabling drawings and their content, including symbols and reference files, to be accessed and managed directly within popular CAD authoring applications (such as AutoCAD and MicroStation) facilitating better decision making and improved productivity.

CaptureLink™ Functionality:

  • Enables drawings and their content including, for example, blocks, symbols and xrefs, to be accessed and managed direct from popular CAD authoring applications.
  • Includes the ability to automatically populate and update drawing title block attributes with those residing in the managed environment for efficient profiling and minimal human error. This facility is bidirectional, enabling title block attributes to be ‘pushed’ to the managed environment facilitating, e.g. the bulk upload of drawings.
  • Specific versions of a drawing residing in the content/document managed environment can be inserted as a reference to a drawing. Version integrity is maintained with the ability to insert, e.g. latest and published versions.
  • CaptureLink™ provides full text search capabilities, enabling drawings to be recovered alongside other documents residing in the content/document managed environment from a single federated search.
